Some subscribers may want to add Vibe to their Live plan for a more well-rounded list of channels. Here are free and cheap ways to watch CBS without cable. It reminds me of Philo.
Are four TVision plans really necessary? That was my first reaction. But then I thought about some of the feedback from Clark. People have said they want to stream live sports and cable news, but they can live without entertainment networks. By separating the TVision Live sports and news and TVision Vibe entertainment plans, T-Mobile is giving you more control over the networks in your lineup and your monthly bill. Cloud DVR is an important feature for many streamers. With the three TVision Live plans, hours of cloud DVR storage is included and recordings can be kept for up to nine months.
With the Vibe bundle, DVR is not included. You can choose whether to record new episodes, new episodes and reruns, or only a single episode. The device plugs into your TV and includes a remote with quick buttons to access the home screen, live guide and DVR. It also works with plenty of other apps.
There are buttons for Netflix and YouTube right on the remote. I used this often to switch channels with TVision. You just push the Google Assistant button on the remote, say the channel you want and it plays within a few seconds. To stream using a mobile device or tablet, download the TVision app for iOS or Android from your app store. In addition to multiple streams, you can set up multiple profiles for the whole family.

Best of all, there are no contracts, equipment rentals or sneaky monthly fees. You can cancel anytime. Here are two examples:. All three of the TVision Live plans are less expensive and may be worth considering if T-Mobile has your must-have channels. Meanwhile, TVision Vibe brings together entertainment networks for a low price. If your local stations are not offered, consider using an antenna or stream them with Locast.
The list of channels does not overlap with the Live TV plans. Days after TVision launched, Discovery Communications took issue with how T-Mobile structured its bundles and said it violated their agreement. Variety reports that both moves are in response to the dispute with Discovery and perhaps other content providers. At launch, Roku devices are not compatible. I relied on these buttons frequently during my test period.
You can ask the Google Assistant all sorts of things, but I most frequently used this feature to change the channel by using my voice. Toward the bottom of the remote is a keypad with numbers. This is helpful for the TVision service because it has a channel number for every network in its lineup. If you sign up for TVision and stick with the service over time, you may want to consider purchasing it then. However, TVision lacks personalization features to recommend shows and movies that you may want to watch.
In the video below, I give you a complete walkthrough of the TVision service and its pros and cons. If you prefer to keep reading, scroll past the video for a summary of my thoughts. The navigation bar disappears after a few seconds to let you pick up where you left off.
I really liked that. To pull up the navigation bar, just press the back button on your remote. You can click the back button to exit out of these options. The navigation felt very familiar and I picked it up fast. When in doubt, I just clicked the back button. They include:.
Typically, it took about two or three seconds from the time I clicked play on a title for it to load. Instead, options to play or record will appear on the screen. A video preview of the show will also be displayed. Again, when I clicked play on a title, it took only a second or two for it to start. It was very fast. From my perspective, the Shows and Movies tabs need work to be more useful. T-Mobile tells me that personalization features are on the way after launch. You can see how much DVR storage is left in the upper right corner of the screen.
After you click play on a recording, it should load in about three seconds. As with most streaming TV services, you can fast forward and rewind through your recordings. But if you try it out, add your thoughts in the comments below! If you found this review helpful, please subscribe to my monthly newsletter and YouTube channel.

T-vision getting ready to dump the service. Service calls to tech people without results. I have been using it now for 3 weeks. Not a single hiccup.
