The Lagos Airport Hotel is indeed a survivor. It used to be a part of a group of Hotels, referred to as NHL. Nigerian Hotels Limited. They were spread alond the entire states of Nigeria. Most of these Hotels are moribund today except for very few like the Lagos Airport Hotel, that is why I call it a survivor. It is still in business along Awolowo way, Ikeja and is just about 10 minutes drive from the Lagos Airport and 20 minutes from the Lagos International Airport.

Operational data obtained from the incineration facility were analyzed to determine the short- and long-term effects of PAW spraying on the pressure drop. For the short-term effect, it was confirmed that the pressure drop at the fabric filters always decreased to 0. This effect was expected to be obtained by about one third of present PAW spraying amount.
However, from the long-term perspective, the pressure drop showed an increase in the periods of PAW spraying compared with periods for which PAW spraying was not performed. The pressure drop increase was particularly noticeable after the initial PAW spraying, regardless of the age and type of fabric filters used.
These results suggest that present PAW spraying causes a temporary pressure drop reduction, leading to short-term energy consumption savings; however, it also causes an increase of the pressure drop over the long-term, degrading the overall operating conditions. Thus, appropriate PAW spraying conditions are needed to make effective use of PAW to reduce the pressure drop at fabric filters from a short- and long-term point of view.

In this paper, a technique is presented for computing the dust loading in the baghouse exhaust when one or more bags have failed. An example calculation is presented for a baghouse equipped with bags. The prediction shows that a small percentage of failed bags can cause a relatively large proportion of the gas flow to bypass the active bags, which, in turn, leads to high outlet dust loading and low overall collection efficiency from the baghouse. The algorithm developed is shown to be an improvement over a previously published result, which requires empirical knowledge of the variation in baghouse pressure differential with bag failures.
